Longtime partners join in effort involving the first interactive simulation-based training system designed to help users prepare for incidents such as possible terrorist attacks involving WMDs

TEMPE, Ariz. - April 26, 2005 - ESS and SAIC today jointly announced a new teaming agreement where ESS will be selling and distributing SAIC's Automated Exercise Assessment System (AEAS) nationwide, effective immediately. The agreement was announced at ESS EXPO.05, the annual business conference and workshop for ESS users.

Developed by a team of SAIC scientists and homeland security experts, AEAS is a PC-based simulation that offers training and exercises for the emergency response community. Organizations can use it to work on their Incident Command System (ICS) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) procedures. The system also has a platform that allows emergency responders to interact with dynamic models in scientifically validated scenarios that are created based on their input. All actions are recorded and participants receive continuous feedback throughout the exercise.

AEAS offers users of Essential Incident Master™, the emergency management software by ESS, yet another opportunity to reduce risk and enhance overall performance, said Robert Johnson, CEO of ESS.

"As a leader of Crisis Management technologies for both government and industry, we are very excited about bringing AEAS to our customers," Mr. Johnson said. "We have been associated with SAIC on several levels and this new agreement again shows customers our commitment to working with some of the best scientific minds in the business to bring them the best available tools."

"ESS has worked with us to develop other products, such as blast models for explosions, and extended work with us in the environmental area," said David Snyder, SAIC vice president for business development. "SAIC is pleased to be continuing its relationship with ESS."

ESS is the leading provider of Operational Risk Management software and services for Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) and Crisis Management. The company has provided more than 35,000 Compliance Suite™ and Essential Suite™ software licenses to businesses, government agencies and other organizations worldwide.
