The ESS hosted solution gives clients access to the company's Crisis Management software through a completely redundant, highly secure and fully meshed network through a partnership with SunGard, a $4 billion company with more than 25,000 customers in more than 50 countries, including the world's 50 largest financial services.
This partnership gives customers access to the industry leading Crisis Management software and services for Operational Risk Management on a platform provided by one of the world's leading software IT services companies. Organizations purchase the software and it is hosted at one of SunGard's secure facilities. In doing so, they acquire the benefits of using a complete hosted IT infrastructure, servers and operating software without having to deal with the usual maintenance and technical support issues. As a result, customers have a backup system that is far more extensive then any available on the market today.
For example, Internet availability is made possible by three independent ISPs, triple redundant routers and dual redundant distribution systems. Robust high-speed connectivity allows ESS to offer its hosted solution at rates ranging between five and 100 Mbps. Plus, user Crisis management data is available on two separate database systems – one active and one on hot standby – and a layer of security provided by redundant Cisco firewall and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), along with a second security layer of redundant proxy and IDS systems.
With these levels of security, reliability and redundancy, ESS is free to focus on what it does best, which is give users access to tools for activities ranging from basic compliance assurance to transforming Crisis Management data into the information needed to develop business-enhancing performance metrics that drive out operational expenses and risk.
